Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  We now offer laser therapy for the relief of many common inflammatory conditions. Our class 4 laser unit provides deep issue penetration for treating common problems like arthritis, ear infections, wounds, and breaks/fractures. The goal of laser therapy is pain relief for acute and chronic conditions and to decrease dependence of pain medications.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.

Pet Crematorium: We do provide cremation services for your pet. If you are not a client of Tyler Veterinary, but use another clinic in the Tyler city limits, we do provide pick up and delivery services to those clinics. Prices depend on the weight of your pet and an urn is included. We offer private or basic cremations.  Due to health risks, we do not cremate pets that have been deceased  for an extended period of time.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to Texas A&M University and Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center for more complicated procedures.

Radiology Services:  In 2010, we added a new digital radiography system that gives us better image quality for quick diagnosis of problems. It also gives us the ability to email xray images to a specialist in the event that a second opinion is needed.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists. We also perform our own ultrasounds.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, tooth extractions and oral surgery.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification and scanning.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives, including the ProHeart 6 heartworm infection,  to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of Purina and Royal Canin prescription diets.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your home, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.
